About the Author
W ayne Pike, author of Township Roads,
grew up on a dairy,
hog and crop farm near Rochester, Minnesota. He has a Master's Degree in
Agricultural Education from the University of Minnesota and currently works
as a farm management instructor for Riverland Community & Technical College.
Wayne and his wife, Deb, have three sons, ten hens and two cats. For twenty
years, they lived on an 11-acre farm in "suburban" LeRoy, Minnesota, right
on the Iowa line. In 2003, he and his family moved back to the farm where he
grew up.Wayne started writing Township Roads in 1997 as a bi-weekly
column for the Fillmore County Journal. Township Roads
placed third in the 2002 Iowa Newspaper Association's Master Columnist
competition and second in the Minnesota Free Newspaper Association's Personal
Column contest.
